  17. <p>    All rise. The newsroom will come to order. Catherine Crier,
  18. 34, a Dallas district court judge for five years, has turned in
  19. her gavel to join CNN and is set to take a bench behind the
  20. anchor desk. The judge was signed to a three-year contract after
  21. the network saw a demo tape of Her Honor doing interviews with
  22. authors. Jurists and journalists have a lot in common, she
  23. believes. They both "become minor experts on a lot of things."
  24. Presumably, she'll present the day's events prudently -- in both
  25. short and long sentences.
