- <p> All rise. The newsroom will come to order. Catherine Crier,
- 34, a Dallas district court judge for five years, has turned in
- her gavel to join CNN and is set to take a bench behind the
- anchor desk. The judge was signed to a three-year contract after
- the network saw a demo tape of Her Honor doing interviews with
- authors. Jurists and journalists have a lot in common, she
- believes. They both "become minor experts on a lot of things."
- Presumably, she'll present the day's events prudently -- in both
- short and long sentences.
